Glide builds internal business apps and AI agents from the spreadsheets teams already use, for jobs such as inventory, procurement, work orders and field sales1. For a Base44 team whose app is an internal tool, it offers tighter governance in exchange for giving up the code.
Best for: Operations, field and back-office teams that run on spreadsheets and want governed internal apps for inventory, work orders, procurement or field sales.
Not the right fit for: Public-facing products, or teams that want to own and host the code.
What Glide offers teams leaving Base44
Glide reads Google Sheets and Excel, including formulas, lookups and notes, and builds an app for desktop and phone from them. Apps are private to the company by default, roles can be set down to the individual row, and the site lists single sign-on, an audit log of builds, changes and publishes, AES-256 encryption and SOC 2, GDPR and CCPA1. Admins can set AI spending budgets and approve which models are used, and Glide states that customer data does not train those models1.
For a migration, Base44's per-table CSV exports can become the spreadsheets Glide builds on. The limits are in the plans: the free plan cannot publish, Basic allows 2 published apps and 1 enabled workflow, Plus 5 and 5, and annual billing is not yet offered2.

Strengths and limits
Strengths
- Apps are private to the company by default, with row-level roles, SSO and an audit log of builds and publishes.
- Starts from the spreadsheets teams already use, so records do not have to be re-entered.
- Admins can set AI spending budgets and approve which models are used.
Limits
- The free plan cannot publish an app.
- Plans cap published apps (2 on Basic, 5 on Plus) and enabled workflows.
- Billed monthly only; annual plans are listed as coming soon.
- Hosted by Glide; the pages reviewed offer no code export or self-hosting.
Choose another option if: You want the source code or to host the app yourself. Lovable or Dyad give you the code.
Pricing
Published: Basic $25, Plus $50 and Pro $125 a month (Pro starts at 5 team members). Enterprise custom.
Questions to ask Glide
- How many apps and workflows will we publish, and which plan does that require?
- Which of our Base44 backend functions can be rebuilt as Glide workflows?
- On which plan are SSO and the audit log available to us?
- What is the export path for our data if we leave Glide later?
The full comparison sets Glide against the other eight builders on the same seven criteria.
