Replit Agent builds apps, websites and agents from a plain-language description inside Replit's development platform, with a built-in database and user authentication1. For a Base44 team, it trades simplicity for a workspace a developer can take over.

Best for: Teams with some technical confidence that want an agent to build the app and a full development environment to run it, with hard spending caps.

Not the right fit for: Operators who want a business system without ever opening a development environment.

What Replit offers teams leaving Base44

Agent tests the app in a browser as it builds and can connect services such as Stripe and OpenAI, with keys kept on the server1. Agent work is billed by effort per checkpoint; Replit asks for confirmation before paid work starts, and budget limits put a hard cap on spending, with alerts at thresholds2. Core and Pro credits also cover published apps, storage and databases2.

The Enterprise tier is where Replit addresses the concerns that push teams off Base44: SSO, SCIM provisioning, role-based access, audit logging and the option to run agents in the company's own cloud, plus connectors for Salesforce, Snowflake and others3.

Published evidence

  • Helix Electric (vendor-reported). Replit’s enterprise page credits Helix Electric with an 85% efficiency gain on compliance audits. The figure is Replit’s own, and we found no full case study to check it against.3

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • A complete environment: the code, database and deployment sit in one workspace a developer can open later.
  • Budget limits set hard caps on spending, and usage alerts warn at thresholds.
  • Enterprise lists SSO, SCIM, role-based access, audit logging and bring-your-own-cloud, plus connectors for Salesforce and Snowflake.

Limits

  • Each change is priced by the effort it took, so its cost is visible only once the checkpoint completes.
  • Access controls, SSO and running in your own cloud are Enterprise features.
  • Maintaining what the agent builds assumes someone comfortable in a development environment.

Choose another option if: No one on the team wants to work in a code workspace. Softr or OpenLazarus ask less of the operator.

Pricing

Published: Core costs $20 monthly or $18 on annual billing and includes $20 toward model usage; Pro costs $100 monthly or $90 annually, includes $100 in credits and allows 15 collaborators. Enterprise is custom.

Questions to ask before choosing Replit

  • Who will maintain the code once the agent has built it?
  • What budget cap should be set, and who receives the alerts?
  • Do we need Enterprise for SSO, role-based access or running in our own cloud?
  • How will records exported from Base44 be loaded into Replit's database?

The full comparison sets Replit against the other eight builders on the same seven criteria.
